What is Leprosy?
Leprosy is a disease that attacks the skin, nerves, limbs, and eyes. People with leprosy develop sores on their skin and lose some of their nerve sensations. Leprosy is transmitted via droplets from the nose and mouth during close and frequent contact with untreated cases.
Advanced stages of leprosy cause the bones in fingers and toes to curl and eventually decay and shrink. Leprosy can be treated with proper medications.
